Sant Roc and the Museum

This year the small festival of Rubí will be held on Saturday, September 19th and the Vallhonrat Museum has prepared an activity by the castellers who are celebrating their 30th anniversary.

The castellers of Rubí were founded in 1996 and are currently the only castellers in the town. The castellers actively participate in activities in the city related to popular and traditional culture.

We will start at 10:45 am offering a guided tour for those who have never been to the museum and those who are passionate about antiques. Once the visit is over, we will take the opportunity to present the museum’s new story entitled “Fem pinya” the 11th in the collection written by Nuria Julià i Fosas and illustrated by Elena Boixader Baraut. At the end, to celebrate the event, the castellers of Rubí will make a pillar in which some colla from the neighboring town will also participate. Throughout the festival you will find Inés Bayo, an artist who will paint faces with the typical colors of the castellers. The activity is open to everyone and free. Plaça Montserrat Roig, s/n Rubí.

Seminar III. “Postmodernism, the generation that brings to its culmination the modernity sought by the first modernists”

Thursday 18 June 2026 at 6pm this seminar will be given by Fransesc Fontbona de Vallescar, doctor in Modern History from the University of Barcelona. Modernisme disappears completely in the third decade of the 20th century, as had happened with art nouveau throughout Europe. Among the possible causes of the decline of the movement, it is necessary to consider the fact that it did not manage to solve the needs of standardization that modern industrial production demanded or the problem of social housing. The impact of the artistic avant-gardes of the early 20th century also conditioned new perspectives on creation (Nonell, Picasso, Gargallo…). Organized by: Aula Extensió Universitària (AEUR).

Location: Vallhonrat Auditorium Plaça Montserrat Roig, s/n. Free.
