NEW GRAFFITI AT THE VALLHONRAT MUSEUM

The entrance to the Vallhonrat de Rubí Museum Foundation, in May 2023, has renewed its image, offering visitors a mural painted by the 1st year students of the Artistic Baccalaureate of the INS La Serreta and leaving on the interior facade, part of the old mural created by EdRa in 2012.

The new mural reflects the evolution of human communication through time, flowing like the water of a river through seven fundamental historical stages: Prehistory with the typical cave paintings; Babylon with cuneiform writing; Egypt with its hieroglyphs; Greece with myths and oral culture; the end of the Middle Ages with Gutenberg and the printing press; the 19th and 20th centuries, with the invention of various technological elements such as: photography, cinema, the telephone or the Internet, among others, until reaching the present day, in the 21st century, with the digital age where communication through social networks is immediate and crosses borders.

This graffiti will be included in the Street Art Route, organized by the city’s Projection service of the Rubí City Council.

The museum turned into a diorama

From December 18, 2022 to January 15, 2023, a nativity scene dedicated to the museum for its 60th anniversary and in memory of Pere Vallhonrat will be on display at the Rubí Cultural Classroom. It is a work created by Josep Comelles, a member of the Rubí Nativity Scene Association. It features the characteristic porch, fountain and water tower, which are the elements that house the diorama dedicated to the Adoration, one of the oldest scenes in the artistic world and one of the most elaborated by nativity scene artisans, as it includes the main characters of these festivities. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Location: Rubí cultural classroom (in front of the station).
