His lines of research have focused on various studies: local history, rural world, social, trade union and political movements, and the transition to democracy in Spain.
On November 20, 1975, Francisco Franco died at the age of 82. Francoism was a military dictatorship legitimized by its victory in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), which led to a violent postwar period marked by harsh and persistent repression. In this context, the transition to democracy after the Franco dictatorship must be understood as a broad and multifaceted process where nothing was predetermined.
