THE VALLHONRAT MUSEUM FOUNDATION AND EDRA COMMEMORATE THE CENTENARY OF PONS CIRAC

The EDRA School of Art and Design and the Vallhonrat Museum Foundation is the second time that they have joined forces to work together, this time, on a local proposal to redesign the entrance area to the museum in September 2021.

Through the Creative Talent and Company program, in order to create an original interior design proposal, in the central part of the garden to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the artist Pons Cirac, through light, reflections and color, characteristic features of his work.

The commission is part of a program of activities that will have the collaboration of educational centers and some businesses and local entities, with the aim of disseminating and giving the work of this artist known by the nickname of El Ángel del cristal.

The museum has the most important collection in the world, made up of a hundred pieces: vases, paintings, work utensils and awards that can be seen in great detail; a meticulous and freehand job, where the slightest mistake was impossible to rectify.

Pedro Vallhonrat, president of the Vallhonrat Museum Foundation of Rubí, together with the Pons Cirac family, decided that this museum space would be the ideal one to keep the internationally prestigious work in perfect condition.

History of the Museum

The origins of the Ethnographic Museum Vallhonrat of Rubí back to the middle of the last century when Miquel Vallhonrat Brau started in the world of collecting, initially with family pieces from the early eighteenth century. He subsequently received input from customers and rubinenses.
