Foundation Book

12 November 2020

The Vallhonrat Ethnographic Museum Foundation presents a book in January 2021 that collects the creation of the family legacy and gives voice to the world of local collecting.

The director of the Foundation, Mr. Pedro Vallhonrat Guiu, presents the book History of the Ethnographic Museum Vallhonrat de Rubí and the world of collecting, art and culture of Rubí through its people, which is divided into two parts: the first, it tells the story of the Vallhonrat family, the creation of the museum, a review of some of the pieces exhibited in the six rooms that make it up and closes with a compilation of outstanding events. A kind look at the museum's founders and the legacy that, after sixty years, has become a cultural benchmark for the Vallesana region and has been recognized with the 2019 Cross of San Jorge by the Generalitat of Catalonia.

The second part gives prominence to the world of local collecting, through the testimony of people from Rubina who have made a hobby, a small world.

The book has wanted to dedicate a space to the students of the educational centers who annually make guided visits to the Museum and work the Educational Sheets prepared by each school stage, with a drawing contest that rewards the artistic and personal vision that this experience has transmitted to them. The winning drawings and the finalists are also part of this book.
